Family Room Addition in Annandale, Virginia

 

SAVING the POPLAR TREE! As our designer Randy Iacone, CR was designing a single story addition, he knew he didn’t want to remove the poplar tree. As he awaits his score for the certified Green Remodeling designation with NARI, Randy always plans to protect the environment while implementing green practices in our remodel projects. Saving the tree and creating a “green” electrical plan became part of the design package for our client. Randy knew the tree would provide significant cooling cost savings and green lighting would be not only be sufficient but also a financial savings in the long run.

 

Our client, a family of four in Annandale, VA, asked Advanced Contracting, Inc. to design and build a single story addition with future plans for a second story, off the back of their home. This new space would be used as a family room/game room.

 

When all was said and done, Randy was able to provide the client with the space they needed including ample lighting the green way, while saving the 100+ year old poplar tree!
